Photoaging

Abstract
Aging of skin is a continuous process that may be enhanced by sun exposure. Over the last several years, remarkable progress in the study of the photoaging elicited by sun exposure has been made in understanding of the underlying molecular and biochemical mechanisms. Major topic of photoaging has been particularly in the response of UV radiation. But, electromagnetic radiation is composed of different spectral regions such as X-rays, UV, visible and infrared (IR) radiation. Accordingly, we described not only the effect of UV radiation but also the function of IR on the skin. This review also summarized the published articles until now about the characteristic features of photoaging and provided an outline of them.
